Cookie and Local Storage Policy

Effective and last updated: 21 August 2026

This policy explains how JobFitsMe uses cookies, local storage, session storage, and related technologies on its public website and in the Chrome extension.

1. Chrome extension storage

The extension uses chrome.storage.local, rather than website cookies, for:

  • authentication tokens, the signed-in email address, and user identifier;
  • signed-out hide and restore actions that may later synchronize after sign-in;
  • short-lived pending checkout information used to synchronize a subscription; and
  • development controls that are not part of normal production use.

The current extension actively deletes the legacy database named DB. It does not use IndexedDB as an active store for resumes, job history, account data, or AI results. Authenticated product history is stored by the JobFitsMe backend as described in the Privacy Policy.

2. JobFitsMe website storage

The website uses first-party local storage to remember the first landing page, referral and UTM campaign values, and first-visit time. Session storage records whether a returning visit was already counted in the current browser session. These values support aggregate website measurement and do not contain your resume or extension account history.

Your browser may also cache static website files and fonts as part of normal web delivery.

3. Production analytics

The production website uses Contentsquare to understand page visits, interactions, scrolling, device/browser context, approximate location, and session behavior so we can improve the public website. Contentsquare may use cookies and similar identifiers under its own privacy terms. JobFitsMe does not use this data for personalized advertising and does not intentionally join it to your extension account.

Mixpanel and Google Analytics integrations exist in the website code but are not listed as active production processors in this revision. We will update this policy before activating either service in production.

4. Your controls

You can clear or block cookies, local storage, and session storage in your browser. You can clear extension-local data through Chrome or by uninstalling the extension. Clearing authentication state signs you out; clearing pending local actions may prevent them from synchronizing.

To opt out of Contentsquare collection on this domain, use the Contentsquare opt-out link. Contentsquare documents that this sets an opt-out cookie and removes its other cookies for this domain. If you later clear cookies, you may need to opt out again. Browser privacy controls, content blockers, and Global Privacy Control settings may provide additional controls, although availability and effect depend on the browser and provider.

5. Changes and contact

We will update this policy when storage or analytics practices materially change. Questions can be sent to support@jobfitsme.com.
